Reiki - What Is it? Would it Help Me?
Many have experienced feeling completely drained after an argument, a rough day at work, or an encounter with an energy vampire (re: your ex, frenemies, the always complaining boss/coworker). Reiki is a way to essentially recharge and reset your energies, while chasing away the negativity.
During a Reiki session, you will lie on the table, fully clothed and facing up. You may cover yourself with a blanket for your comfort. You will be directed to close your eyes and relax, while doing a mental "check in" with your body. The practitioner may utilize a pendulum and healing stones to energize your chakra centers.
During the Reiki healing session the practitioner may place hands lightly on different parts of your body. Some Reiki practitioners will follow a predetermined sequence of hand placements, allowing their hands to rest on each body placement for 2 to 5 minutes before moving on to the next. Empathic practitioners will freely move their hands in no particular order to the areas where they "feel" Reiki is most needed. Some Reiki practitioners do not actually touch their clients. Instead, they will hover their lifted palms a few inches above the reclined body. Either way, Reiki energies flow where they are suppose to. Reiki is a smart energy that automatically flows where the imbalances are in your body regardless of where the practitioner's hands are placed." This video is a demonstration of a Reiki session, and is an excellent demonstration of what happens during a session.
An easy way to experience Reiki is by adding it to your regular massage session.
