Mother's Day, Keto, Fasting and RV Living

It is 9:30 pm on Mother's Day evening, and I am sitting in my RV preparing for bed. I had a very relaxing day with the dogs and my partner. We just went to the beach, drove around Key West, stopped in Big Pine to see some Key Deer, then came home and took a nap.

I decided to fast today. For those who follow me on Facebook, you may have seen that I have started a #ketodiet. It is essentially a low carb, high fat diet. Your goal is #ketosis so your body is burning fat instead of sugar for energy. I have played around with a low carb diet for years, but I just couldn't / wouldn't give up my wine. I finally took the plunge in late April, and since then, I have lost almost 19lbs.

For decades people have used essential oils like lavender and citrus to relax and de-stress. Now doctors in Southwest Florida are working to understand the science behind the oils.


Cape Coral Hospital has launched a new experiment that tests the effects on their stroke and pain patients.

"One little drop is all it takes." Noemi Vasquez is undergoing a new experiment. "Rub it on your skin."

Doctors are testing how lavender oil helps her recover from a major skin infection.

"Mmm it smells so good!"
